Founded in 1985, this big food festival in Kanazawa attracts many tourists who want to enjoy Ishikawa’s food and culture in winter, when different types of ingredients are available.

One of Food-pia’s popular events, the Kenrokuen Yukimi (snow viewing) party, takes place at tearooms near Kenrokuen where people enjoy Kanazawa Geiko dances (geisha girls of kanazawa, Japanese professional female entertainers) and the Ozashiki drum (a Japanese drum played at Japanese-style banquets) while taking in the night view of Kenrokuen.

Foodpia Land Kanazawa is held at Ishikawa-ken Sangyo Tenjikan. The event is great for families and groups, it runs for two days, and admission is free. At the stall village, you can enjoy the taste of winter food in Ishikawa as well as food from around the country. Other events including hot-pot parties, dinner shows, balls, etc. are held at department stores and hotels all over the city. The 2015 festival ran from February 1 to March 15.
